Priceline Hotel: Long Island City

Hi,

Thanks for letting me join! I need your expert advice. I may stay in Long Island City and notice when I search Priceline's site they only list one 3 star hotel(Holiday Inn). If I bid by naming my own price, it is safe to assume that I'll get the same 3 star hotel they have listed at regular price or do they have more 3 star hotels to pick from in Long Island City. Also, is there any chance I'll get downgraded to a 2 1/2 orl lower hotel?

I got an email link to PRICELINE and tried to bid and got accepted for $65/night - Dates June 3 to June 6. I totally forgot to go thru this website...I'm sorry :). Should I not accept their offer and go through this website? Would I get the same deal? The offer is waiting for me now.

I'll speculate that your offer was not yet accepted... more likely is that you're looking at the 'review' screen to ensure that all of the information you entered is correct. Have you entered you credit card information yet? Have you clicked a "Buy My Hotel Room Now" button? Is the name of the hotel you will be receiving shown? If none of these things then you're probably just looking at the 'review your information' screen.

Do note that once you actually do submit a bid (assuming you haven't yet above), if you're offer is accepted there is no opportunity to accept or reject it... if a hotel accepts your bid price you now own the reservation and the name of the hotel is shown to you.

Let us know if you're indeed at this "review" your information page or where you are in the process.
