crazyzete Posted May 27, 2010 Report Posted May 27, 2010 How do you know it is the Annex building? I got worried with my bid because I didn't know the Annex was completely different (Expedia and Travelocity list it as a different hotel, 2.5 starts). I called the Chelsea to ask where my room would be and she said if i booked through Priceline, they only reserve in the luxury tower. This seems contrary to what others have said, so I'm curious how you know that you are in the Annex? Did you try calling the hotel and asking them where your room is?Does anyone reading these posts have any experience with a low priceline bid for The Chelsea and being put in the Annex, and if so, how bad was it?
AaronJB Posted May 27, 2010 Report Posted May 27, 2010 There appear to have been reports of users being put in either/or via PRICELINE in the past, but HOTWIRE does separate the two towers, which come up differently and at different star ratings. Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
BobC Posted June 6, 2010 Author Report Posted June 6, 2010 Am writing this from my room at the Chelsea. Checked in around 12 noon. Got a Luxe King Room with an ocean view in the tower portion of the hotel. Happier with the room than I could ever have imagined. Hotel is great with a great pool scene & cocktails by the pool. Nicely decorated in a retro rat pack kind of vibe. Beds ae REALLY comfortable. I will write a full review upon my return home.
AaronJB Posted June 6, 2010 Report Posted June 6, 2010 Thank you for the review - glad to hear you're having a good stay! :)
