shawt Posted February 19, 2005 Report Posted February 19, 2005 I am looking for a hotel in Brooklyn within some reasonable distance of Prospect park the night of Sunday Feb. 27. The Marriott is sky-high. I can't find any others at all. Any possibilities in lower Manhattan?
thereuare Posted February 19, 2005 Report Posted February 19, 2005 Welcome to BetterBidding! How about $139/nite for the Brooklyn Marriott? :) Let us know if you decide to take the above or we need to look further. As you probably know, there aren't too many hotels in Brooklyn. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
shawt Posted February 20, 2005 Author Report Posted February 20, 2005 This is the first time I have used this site so I am not sure if I am answering correctly. I have found a few hotels in the Union Square area of Manhattan that i might use that are more reasonable. Or I might just go to NY in the morning and go home to Washington at night. thanks for the offer though. It was the best I had seen.
thereuare Posted February 20, 2005 Report Posted February 20, 2005 There are quite a few hotels in that area that i would describe as 'marginal' (and would suggest the same for many sub-$100 NYC properties).... what are some of the hotels you are considering? shawt Posted February 21, 2005 Author Report Posted February 21, 2005 I am at my office now and do not have their names. I recall one called "marcel." they were all in the vicinity of $106 plus tax. However, I have decided to just take the train up for one day unless I can find something at the last minute. Would it be worth it to try again for the Marriott a day or two before? How does that work?
thereuare Posted February 21, 2005 Report Posted February 21, 2005 You didn't mention that you had even tried for the Marriott, nor at what price, so we can't say whether it would be worth your time to try again or not.I thought the Marriott rate i mentioned above was a pretty good deal, what type of prices are you expecting? shawt Posted February 23, 2005 Author Report Posted February 23, 2005 Sorry for the delayed response. I just got back from a trip. I once stayed at the marriott for $99 and I guess I was hoping for something like that again. But that was a few years ago. I will try again tomorrow. thanks for all your help.
