Looking to get Venetian for the dates of 06/11-06/16 (five nights) through PRICELINE.

I see that a new ZONE has showed up on the map with name (Las Vegas Strip Vicinity North); does it mean that TRUMP has moved to this new ZONE which means if I bid for (Las Vegas Strip North) there are good chances that I'll get Venetian?

I am yet to get my air tickets which hopefully should be done by end of today. After that I'll start bidding for Hotel. Any suggestions on starting bid would be welcome. I am thinking of around $ 85.

Thanks for your help !! and Keep Up the Great Forum!!

Welcome to BetterBidding!

Yes, the Trump is now in the North Strip Vicinity, but i wouldn't suggest that by bidding the Strip North zone you're chances of getting the Veneitian are any better/worse than one of the other 5* hotels in this zone.

Let us know once your tickets/plans are finalized... then click this PRICELINE link and let us know your maximum bid and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow.

$85 might be a little low to win, but a good start (considering you have weekend days), but getting the Venetian / Palazzo is highly likely. The only other 5 star is the Wynn, and that tends to be higher. They are all amazing properties. I'd bid up in $5 increments adding the non-5 star areas like "Las Vegas Speedway" to increase your chances.

For your dates, I see Vdara at CityCenter on Hotwire for $107 (5 star south strip, no smoking)

Venetian or Palazzo is $126 on Hotwire (5 star north strip, with suite icon)

If you want to keep that in mind for your bidding price. Or those are great deals! :)

Thanks.. I'll start bidding tonight with starting bid of $ 85 and go forward accordingly. I could go up to $ 100-110 if using PRICELINE.

Is there any way I could find out which offer narrow down to Venetian by looking at the Amenities Icons in HOTWIRE?

Used the PRICELINE link from this website and placed a bit for $ 85 per night for Strip North. Rejected, counter offered at $ 128. I added one more ZONE (Speedway) which I knew didn't have a 5* and placed my bid again at $ 90, got rejected again and the same counter offer. I am planning to add one more ZONE (with no 5*) and bid at $ 95 tonight. Any suggestions on what ZONE to add safely?

Placed a bit for $ 95 in Strip North Area. Got Rejected. No Counter Offer. Added a non 5* ZONE and bid for $ 100 per night and got rejected again without a counter offer.

I also noticed that price on HOTWIRE for Strip North 5* has also gone up from $ 126 per night previously to $ 159 per night now.

Please Suggest !!

Max. I can go for PRICELINE is around $ 110 (plus taxes and Resort Fee) and I don't want to spend more than $ 750 for my stay (five nights).

South Strip ZONE is not an option. I'll bid again tomorrow for Strip North and go until $ 110. If I don't get accepted, may be I'll try few days later and in worst case may settle down for Trump.

My dates are 06/11/10 till 06/16/10 (5 Nights) and I have been bidding on PRICELINE to get either Venetian or Pallazo and my bids have been unsuccessful so far (went uptil $ 110). I am also looking at HOTWIRE to get an idea of what may be the maximum I'd bid on PRICELINE. I see that a 5* property is listed on HOTWIRE for $ 154 per night with the following amenities. I think it may be Pallazo or Venetian but since it also lists Bed Choices, could it be possible to pin point exactly what it might be?

Bed Choice

Resort

Suite

Casino

Fitness Center

Pools

Restaurants

Business Center

High Speed Internet Access

I tried again with $ 110 for 06/11/10 - 06/16/10 and got rejected with the message "If you are willing to raise your price by $20, you can try the same request again right now.". Please suggest!!

I may opt to split my bid and stay at Venetian/Pallazo for 06/13/10-06/16/10 and at either TRUMP or Mirage for 06/11 and 06/12; but that stands as the last option for me.

Please keep all posts in the same thread since posts are for the same dates. We will edit and move your thread in the end.

I belive that you don't have listed all amenities for the hotel. If you go back to HOTWIRE and click the CONTINUE button next to this offering and then click the "See all amenities" link under the icons, do you see more amenities than what you've listed above?

got turned away with not so good reviews about Venetian lately on Trip Advisor. Decided to go for TRUMP (no Casino is okay for me). Started bidding from $ 70 and went up to $ 89 but got rejected every time. Expedia has Trump International for my dates for $ 101. Not sure if I should wait for some more time and try to get it through Priceline or should go ahead ane book it thorugh Expedia.

Also got a coupon to be used on Expedia which gives me $ 10 off per night, which makes it down to $ 91 per night. Pretty Interesting.

It comes down to whether you want to lock in this rate now or hope that rates come in a little more... while taking the risk that they go higher.

Given you were happy with an $89 bid thru PRICELINE, and you know exactly what you're getting for $91, i would lock it now, especially since your dates include weekend nites, which are always variable. Rates could soften a little, but i would think there is more risk to the upside than to the downside with a $91 price.

used the Expedia link from here and made a reservation for TRUMP International for 06/11/10-06/16/10. Original cost was $ 101 per night but used a coupon (10SPRING10) which gives $ 10 off per night for over $ 75 per night reservations. Ended up paying $ 513 (including tax) for five nights. Thanks to mods for giving suggestions throughout.

Next, looking to make a reservation in NYC Times Square Area during Independence Day Weekend. Will open up another thread for the same.
