cutiechinesechic Posted May 12, 2010 Report Posted May 12, 2010 Hello, I am new to better bidding. What is the best strategy to get the best deal for 4 peeps 1 bedroom in 3.5-4* in Soho area? I am willing to pay up to 250 but not sure what is the best way to get the cheapest deal for one night 5/17. Thanks :)
thereuare Posted May 12, 2010 Report Posted May 12, 2010 Welcome to BetterBidding!Few comments...Not sure if you're looking for a 1 Bedroom Suite or just one room for 4 people, but you can't bid for a Suite on PRICELINE. PRICELINE reservations are for 'standard' rooms. As well, PRICELINE only guarantees double occupancy, after that it's at the discretion of the hotel. Given the notoriously small rooms in NYC, there are a high number of rooms with only one bed, so it's generally considered somewhat risky using PRICELINE for more than double occupancy in NYC.HOTWIRE would still be an option as they allow you to search for up to quad occupancy and ensure bedding for everyone you include in your search.Lastly, with both PRICELINE and HOTWIRE, the Soho area is part of the larger "downtown" zone, so you can't assure a hotel in only the Soho part of the zone... you have to be willing to accept a hotel anywhere within the shaded boundaries of the zone you select.Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
