BumLooker Posted May 11, 2010 Report Posted May 11, 2010 Tried Priceline for the dates of 5/22-5/25 and am having no luck. Tried up to 110 for a 3.5 and above. Even went down to a 3 star in the central areas of Boston with a bid of 95 and no luck. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.Tony

BumLooker Posted May 12, 2010 Author Report Posted May 12, 2010 Sorry Op. I pretty much tried ALL zones aside from South Boston, Logan Airport and the outer lying areas. My wife and I want to stay central as we don't intend on renting a vehicle. We tried bids starting at $70 all the way to $105 initially on 3.5*-4* but even lowered it down to 3*. Ideally we wouldn't want to spend more than $100 a night but as you can see I even exceeded that. I guess if I had to state a MAX budget, I wouldn't mind if we had to pay $125 a night for a four star hotel AFTER all taxes and fees.
thereuare Posted May 12, 2010 Report Posted May 12, 2010 There is a 9K person Trademark convention (Boston is a relatively small hotel market and 9K attendees can have an effect on hotel rates) and although it's late in the month, there could still be a commencement or two at one of the local colleges/universities.Based upon current prices, it will likely take more than $125 for a 3* hotel for these dates. What is the best rate you're currently able to find at an acceptable hotel thur conventional booking channels? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
