arash Posted May 11, 2010 Report Posted May 11, 2010 I appreciate if you share your thoughts on this. I am trying to book 2 rooms in a 4* hotel somewhere in midtown for the night of 5/22 (Sat), preferably TS, MTW, or CPS. MTE and EE are fine too. I have tried since 5 days ago bidding from $136 to $166 using up all six re-bid zones with no success. Is it too soon to expect good catches? Thanks in advance.
thereuare Posted May 11, 2010 Report Posted May 11, 2010 Welcome to BetterBidding! This is an expensive nite in NYC and $166 is not currently going to be enough for a 4* hotel for this nite. What is the best deal you're able to find thru conventional booking channels at a 4* hotel for this nite? What is your maximum bid for this stay? Please click this PRICELINE link before replying. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. arash Posted May 11, 2010 Author Report Posted May 11, 2010 Thank you. Believe it or not, this will be my very first stay in NYC. I bid based on other successful bids about which I had read, most of them achieved a day or two before their travel. I can go higher if necessary but I though I could wait a bit more. Would you be kind enough let me know what will be going on that very night and if ONE night stay prevents the bid to be accepted? Thanks.
AaronJB Posted May 11, 2010 Report Posted May 11, 2010 A one night stay would not prevent a bid from being accepted, but if a particular day is extremely busy, a win will require a higher bid. Rates do vary from day-to-day (often significantly.) Possibly a big convention occurring on these dates? Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
