I'm planning a driving trip to Texas to visit my parents, and my girlfriend and I are thinking of stopping in NoLa for a couple days. I've never used Hotwire.com before but was doing some research and came across this site. This is Hotwire.com listing I found:

3 STAR - French Quarter:

Amenities: Boutique Hotel, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Laundry Facilities, High-speed Internet Access

Price: 64.00/Night Total: $152.49

I'm going to guess this is the Holiday Inn - Chataeu LaMoyne and I was also curious if when I got there, they were going to ask for another deposit on the room or any other additional charges? I only have my cheque/debit card, and don't need all my funds being held up while I'm on Vacation.

Thanks all.

Oh and I'll be using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links from this site to book it!

Welcome to BetterBidding!

I'd agree that the best guess for this property would be the Holiday Inn Chateau Lemoyne.

Most hotels will require a credit or debit card on file for incidentals (and to protect themselves from any damage caused to the room) You could call the hotel to see how much of a hold is placed in debit cards and/or if they'll accept a cash deposit in lieu of a credit/debit card.

Booked it today and it did end up being the Chateau Lemoyne. I also called the front desk before hand to ask about the deposit for Incidentals, and it's $25/day and they do accept Debit/Cheque cards since I don't have a major credit card that also works out great. Room was now $69.00/night but not too big of a difference, and I purchased the $8.00 insurance incase my girlfriend decides to get on my nerves and ruin my trip before it starts *lol*, so with taxes it came to a grand total of $172.09 for 2 nights in the French Quarter, a block away from Bourbon St and 5 blocks from the Casino (where hopefully I make back the vacation and more).

Thanks for the tips and this site, and I'll post my review of the hotel when I get back!

Congratulations on your success!

Glad to see you received the hotel you were hoping for and that we were able to help. Sounds like their deposit policy will work out well for your needs.

Not certain but the insurance probably doesn't cover a fight with your girlfriend (unless she kills you :) )... it usually only covers medical conditions, travel interruption, etc.

Thank you for sharing your results with the board.
