Hotwire Hotel: 3.5* Chicago (NMA-Water Tower-Gold Coast) Ambassador East

Hi,

Can anyone help identify a Hotwire 3.5 star mag. mile /Streeterville hotel with the amenities fitness and internet. $79/night. 65% recommended.

Travel dates are 5/30 through 6/3. Need two rooms.

Also looking at a NMA/Goldcoast 3.5 star listing smoke free, fitness, restaurant, business, internet, golf, tennis. $69/night. 85% recommended. Most likely Ambassador East.

and:

Mag mile/Streeterville with Fitness, business, internet for $69/night. 90% recommended. Guessing Inn of Chicago, but perhaps Hilton Garden or River Hotel?

Any recommendations in this price range are welcome. I'm leaning towards the Ambassador.

I'm guessing the first listing is Inn of Chicago, the second is the Ambassador and if the final listing is 3.5* Mag Mile, that may be the Doubletree.

The Ambassador is a neat older property (which was recently bought out and will be redone later this year) in a nice neighborhood. There's a subway station down the street and it's a few minutes walk to the start of the Michigan Ave. area. The Ambassador is in the Gold Coast, which has a nice selection of restaurants and a lot of nightlife, so there will be people out at night. Lincoln Park Zoo is about a 15 minute walk due North, as is the Old Town area and other sights.

If you need to be centrally located, the 3.5* (?) Mag Mile would be a good option, although I would NOT go for the 3* Mag Mile that could be the Inn of Chicago. If you are looking for a hotel with a more neighborhoody feel around it (and yet transit and shopping options are not far), then the Ambassador would be a good choice.

Hey...just wanted to follow-up. Through the board's HOTWIRE link booked the $69/night 3.5 star NMA/Water Tower/Gold Coast property mentioned above for May 30 - June 3. Guessed it would be the Ambassador East, and that is what we got. Happy with the hotel and the price. Great board here!

Excellent deal for this historic property. Lincoln Park Zoo is about a 15 minute walk North of the hotel, and there's a very nice Farmer's Market in the park near the zoo on Wednesdays/Saturdays (chicagogreencitymarket.org). The Old Town neighborhood is also nearby, too.
