I am going with a friend (we can share a queensize/kingsize bet). We want to stay at a 'central location'. From what I read in this forum "just about any midtown location (MidtownEast, MidtownWest, and UpperMidtown/CentralParkSouth)" are good for tourists who want to explore the city.Our goal is 165$ incl. taxes for 3*Paying less would be even better of course! What's a realistic price to win the bid?Dates: May 31 until June 8 2010.A strategy would be great!TIA(i'm obviously using the PRICELINE link from betterbidding.com and encourage everybody else to the same!)
thereuare Posted May 10, 2010 Report Posted May 10, 2010 Welcome to BetterBidding!From what I read in this forum "just about any midtown location (MidtownEast, MidtownWest, and UpperMidtown/CentralParkSouth)" are good for tourists who want to explore the city.Sort of...At the 3* level there are some 'caveats' to the midtown zones... in the MTE zone is the Millenium UN, which while a nice hotel, is about a 15 minute walk to the subway which is fine for some, but many consider to be a bit too far for convenience. As well, in the CPS is the Hudson Hotel which is a 'happening' hotel, but has notoriously small rooms (and may assign a double bed.. i'm not certain), which might be a bit tight for a week long stay, depending upon your tolerance for such a small room. So you may want to consider not include either/both of these zones.As well, at the 3* level there is often good value in the MSG and Chelsea zones, and ESB can be convenient as well although not usually won as the other zones are often less expensive, so this can be added too, if you feel it will work well for your needs.Our goal is 165$ incl. taxes for 3*Please let us know your maximum bid amount.Lastly, are you willing to pay more for a higher rated hotel OR is the least expensive 3* or better what you're seeking for this trip?Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know the above and we'll take it from there.
