hellyea Posted May 8, 2010 Report Posted May 8, 2010 I stayed at the Courtyard Miramar in San Juan in May of 2009. On April 27, they charged my credit card $13.65. It showed up under "HOTEL EXCELSIOR". I eventually figured out that this hotel is what the Courtyard used to be called. I called their accounting department this week , and she told me that this was a "Resort Tax" that they tried charging Priceline, and it was rejected and thus passed on to me. I didn't get into disputing the word "resort" with them -- but I was firm about not being notified about a charge, and that it being nearly 1 year later, its completely unacceptable. She agreed to reverse the charge.I want to warn others who may have booked at this hotel before to check your credit card statements carefully. This, in my opinion, is a shady practice. If you get useful information from this site (which I'm sure is why you're here) be sure to use the links in the support section to book your room!!!
