4cruisers Posted February 18, 2005 Report Posted February 18, 2005 Well I just did my first successful bid on priceline. I tried it last week and it wasn't accepted but by upping my bid, I got the Renaissance, Ft. Lauderdale on 17th St. for $105 per night April 14th and 15th.This is what I did this afternoon...I selected Ft. Lauderdale beach area for $100- (4 star) it was rejected.I added downtown and upped my bid to $105- and it was accepted. The only sad thing is, I had hoped for the Hyatt, but really the price is so great, I can't complain!I then went for a mini van at $41- per day and got it!!!! (National). Better price than I paid last time sure!!!I don't know if I did this correctly, but we're pretty happy. :)
thereuare Posted February 18, 2005 Report Posted February 18, 2005 Welcome to BetterBidding!Congratulations on your win and thank you for sharing it with the board. If you're happy with the results than you do it right... but for future bids there is probably a bit more strategy you can utulize in order to bid a bit more systematically. Feel free to ask for help next time before you bid and we'll be happy to suggest a strategy to follow.Enjoy your stay and subsequent cruise. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
