isabelj22 Posted May 6, 2010 Report Posted May 6, 2010 I'm looking to book a hotel for 05/28-05/30 for 2 people. Its my first time to NYC so I'm not sure where exactly to stay but want to be somewhat central. I'm considering soho, MTC, chelsea, MTE, ESB, etcany other suggestions on hotel deals are welcome...I would like to stay around (or preferably under!) $200Could you please help in identifying these hotwire options (searched dates above for 2 ppl):MTC: 3.5*, $209, boutique hotel, fitness centre, restaurant, business centre, high speed internet access, trip advisor rating 3.5/5Chelsea: 3.5*, $182, internet, 75% recommend, 4/5chelsea: 3*, $224, fitness centre, business centre, high speed internet access, 85% recommend, 4.5/5MTE: 3.5*, $205, fitness centre, restaurant, internet access, business centre, 65% recommend, mte: 3*, $174, fitness centre, restaurant, internet access, business centre, 70% recommend, 4/5ESB: 3*, $186, boutique hotel, non smoking, fitness centre, restaurant, internet access, 65% recommendYour help/suggestions are much appreciated :)
AaronJB Posted May 6, 2010 Report Posted May 6, 2010 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)Downtown/Soho would not be as centrally located; if the above listings fit within your budget, I would suggest concentrating on those.3.5* Chelsea - this listing has not yet been ID'd/reported to the board.3.5* MTC - this may be the Shoreham, downgraded from 4*.3.5* MTE - this may be the Roosevelt or Doubletree.3* Chelsea - this listing has not yet been ID'd, but may be the Wyndham Garden TS South w/o the prior smoke-free icon showing. It could also be something else, as well - but with 3.5*'s for less, this doesn't seem like the most optimal option3* ESB - I'm seeing a different listing when searching for these dates - are you still seeing the above listing?3* MTE - this has not yet been ID'd/reported to the board. In terms of Chelsea, the newer Ace Hotel (a 4*) is $195 on Orbitz for these dates, and coupon code FABSAVE10 takes an additional 10% off. That coupon also works for a number of other hotels, as well.Betterbidding also has a list of HOTWIRE hotels in NYC that have been reported to the board at this link. Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE or Orbitz.com links to start your purchases and searches.
isabelj22 Posted May 6, 2010 Author Report Posted May 6, 2010 Thank you! Very helpful advice :)The 3* ESB has these features: suite, nonsmoking, fitness centre, laundry, high speed internet access, kitchenetteHotel seems to have changed since I last looked...
AaronJB Posted May 6, 2010 Report Posted May 6, 2010 This would likely be the Murray Hill East Suites. I'm also seeing the 3.5* St Giles The Court Hotel for $197 via Hotels.com, and coupon code 41010 takes an additional 10% off. This is the former W The Court Hotel under new management. The 3.5* St Giles the Tuscany is $206 on Hotels.com (this would also be the former W The Tuscany under new management.) Please use the site's HOTWIRE, PRICELINE or Hotels.com links to start your purchases and searches.

isabelj22 Posted May 6, 2010 Author Report Posted May 6, 2010 Thanks for the advice. I might end up booking on Hotels.com. Can I use that code for other hotels? i.e. hotel metro or hotel indigo? Also, do you have an id for this HOTWIRE hotel:TS, 3*, $214, bed choice, fitness, restaurant, high speed interenet access
thereuare Posted May 6, 2010 Report Posted May 6, 2010 Those three amenities are common for a NYC hotel, but the Washington Jefferson has previously been seen with this amenity combination in the past so that would be my best guess. The Hotels.com code should work for most hotels... you'll just have to enter the coupon code to see if it works or not. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. (our our Hotels.com link if you go that route)Please follow-up this thread with whatever you end up doing for this stay, even if you choose to book direct, cancel your trip, etc. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
