AaronJB
I'm guessing it is very likely the Tremont. Good location, but a basic hotel that gets mediocre reviews. Link to comment

Herfnerd
Originally tried to get a 4* in the NMA area at $65 but nothing.Tried 3* at $70 and still nothing. Then I switched to 2.5* RNA for $60 and PL countered by asking me to rebid $17 higher. Wife is attending a convention at McCormick Place and prices are pretty high in town to begin with, so we took it. Turns out to be the Holiday Inn Mart - was hoping for the Courtyard, but still happy - they bumped us to this 3*. HI site is listing this place for $169........Anyone know who easy/difficult it is to take subway/El from MDW here?Thanx for all the help!! Link to comment
thereuare
So is the title of this thread correct?... you paid the $77 counter-offer?Here is the Chicago Train System home page and a System Map.. midway is on the Orange Line. Herfnerd
The first post was for a Hotwire bid. Wan't really interested in the Tremont so I went the Priceline route. Considering that I couldn't find a decent place in a halfway decent locale for under $85, I agreed to the $77 counteroffer and got the Holiday Inn Mart.Dunno if I did the PL thing right, but wife and I are happy with what we are getting for what we paid. Apparantly the convention she is attending at McCormick Place is one of the bigger ones in Chicago.....Thanx for the mass transit info! Link to comment
