DTW to ABQ 6/28 - 6/30

Looking to get the best possible fare from DTW to ABQ traveling 6/28 - 6/30.

Current fares look like this:

Base: $248

Taxes/Fees: $41.30

Total: $289.30

My question is this...

When bidding via Priceline do I look at 40% off the TOTAL or the BASE?

I do realize that rebids are essentially unlimited so I could start at basically any number, but I'd like to be as effiecient as possible while still getting the best price I can.

Once my strategy is set I will happily use the links on the top of the page for both my air and hotel stay.

Just need a tip or two on how to approach the airfare before I begin.

You won't get a discount on the taxes, so you should base your discount from the base fare.

You are aware that you could receive a late departure on 6/28 and an early return on 6/30, which would leave you a short time in Detroit?

I only need to be in ABQ on the 29th... so if that scenario does happen it's fine with me.

Safer to fly in a day early when using Priceline... I learned that lesson loooooooooong ago!
