Priceline Hotel: 3.5* San Diego (Mission Valley) Hilton Mission Valley

This is actually my first time using PRICELINE at all for hotels but I am so far happy with the result.

First bid $55 for 3.5* in Mission Bay only... rejected

Second bid $60 for 3.5* in Mission Bay AND Point Loma Shelter Island Old Town... accepted at Hilton San Diego Mission Valley.

After I had already gotten the acceptance, I noticed that somehow the $5 travel insurance was automatically added in, which I did not want. I was pretty sure I had not checked that box in the first bid but somehow it was added in by default in the second bid. I called PRICELINE customer service and luckily they were willing to refund the travel insurance fee for me. The money will go towards the apparent $15 parking Hilton will stick on us.

I think it's still a good deal even with the parking fee included. Non-Priceline searches for hotels in the area came up with $87 (without tax) as cheapest and for a 2*. Including tax and parking, Hilton will come out to about $90.
