Priceline Hotel: Manhattan - need help 5/7-5/9

PRICELINE only guarantees double occupancy, after that, it's at the discretion of the hotel. Given the premium on real estate in Manhattan, NYC hotel rooms are typically small and there are a high percentage of rooms which only contain only one bed (some of which don't have any space for a rollaway). As well, many hotels consider rooms with 2 beds to be 'premium' and cost most than their standard rooms.

As a result of the above, it's usually considered to be risky to use PRICELINE for more than double occupancy in NYC. HOTWIRE may still be an option as they allow you to search for up to quad occupancy, but as you've found, rates for many hotels go up once you include the third guest in the room.

Have you tried searching HOTWIRE for triple occupancy? Does anything appear within your desired star rating and budget?
