Sashinka Posted April 30, 2010 Report Posted April 30, 2010 Hi everyone,I can't believe how fortunate I am to have come across this site. I have tried to learn as much about both Hotwire and Priceline, and tried to formulate a strategy through other posters experiences. I still need a little help though and I appreciate any I can get!My fiance and I are going for our Honeymoon August 1 - August 6 this year. We won't be spending much time at the hotel, as we are planning to soke up all that Disneyland has to offer, so we aren't too picky in our requirements. We are both 23, so unfortunetly we can't rent a rental car so our only requirement for the hotel is that it must have a shuttle to disneyland. I'd like to know:Would Priceline or Hotwire be a safer bet when it comes to guaranteeing that the hotel has a shuttle service to Disneyland? What areas of each service should we look into, and what prices should we start at?Again we just want the cheapest hotel we can find that offers shuttle service to Disneyland so we can have more money for Dinners and stuff in the park.I have tried to learn as much about the re-bid zone strategy, and I understand how it works. But in the examples it talks about wanting a 4* and re-bidding with a 3* zone. If we just want the cheapest price and and don't care about the * rating, we will most likely be dealing with a 2*-3* search so how will that work with re-biddig and adding zones? Are there 1* only zones that we can use? what is the re-bidding zone strategy you all suggest we take?Thank you so much in advance. I appreciate all the hard work you guys have put into this site and the wealth of knowledge here is tremendous. I know with your guys' help my future hubby and I will have an amazing honeymoon. Thanks again! :) Sasha
thereuare Posted April 30, 2010 Report Posted April 30, 2010 Welcome to BetterBidding! (and congratulations on your upcoming wedding)With PRICELINE you need to accept any hotel in the zone that you select, and given you have a requirement of a shuttle, i don't think PRICELINE is going to be your best option for this trip. With HOTWIRE you can take an educated guess as to the name of the hotel you may be receiving based upon the amenities shown before your purchase... then research to determine if this hotel offers a shuttle and satisfies any of your other needs for this trip. So HOTWIRE would appear to be a better option, although not perfect, because you still have to guess the hotel correctly! (and if you receive something other then what you expect, hopefully that hotel offers a shuttle)I would start by doing a HOTWIRE search for your dates and see what is offered in the Anaheim Disneyland North and Anaheim Disneyland South zones within your budget and star rating requirements... from there we can try to assist to identify the hotels you're considering.I would also consider pricing out the cost of a car rental with the included under-age fee... not so much for getting to/from the park, but for meals during this trip; from what i hear, the cost of food at the parks is ridiculous, and it may be cheaper to pay the daily underage fee and have your choice of dinner venues. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you find and we'll take it from there. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
