Priceline Hotel: visiting annapolis, never used either site before! help!

visiting Annapolis the 2nd weekend in May. Never used either PRICELINE or HOTWIRE. Nervous about both sites. Read that in downtown annapolis there are only a few 4 start hotels, not sure if this is true. One site is listing a price for a hotel but thinking about putting in a much lower price on PRICELINE. Suggestions? help?
