I am planning on using either PRICELINE or HOTWIRE to make my purchase for a hotel in August. However, I am worried that I will get stuck in a smoking room because I am going to Maui during the busy season, and I am going for my honeymoon. So, the last thing I want to do is be stuck in a smelly room. Is there any way to ensure that I dont get stuck in a bad room? Could I call in after I get my hotel and change my room? Any help would be appreciated as I am new to both PRICELINE and HOTWIRE. I was going to try to bid on a room through priceline and if I cant get it then I will just buy one with through hotwire. Any suggestions?

Welcome to betterBidding :)

In general, it's only a minority of todays hotels that still got smoking rooms. Both PRICELINE and HOTWIRE will book you in a smoke free rooms but in the end is this up to the hotel to decide what room you get.

But if you look at HOTWIRE can you see smoke free icons in the amenitie combos. This will guarantee you a smoke free room. So HOTWIRE might be the right route for you to go.

Let us know how we can help you further.

Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.

I would not be concerned. Most hotels in Hawaii are smoke-free, and if they do have any "smoking" floors, it has been my experience that they will move you as far away from them as possible to accomodate you.

Thanks for the help! I'll give it a shot and let you know what happens.
