jorgebarnes
Followed the fantastic advice on this forum in hopes of getting JW Marriott ($159 at every site - Marriott, Orbitz, Hotels.com, etc.):1. $52, 4*, White House/Downtown --> rejected, no counter2. $58, + Alexandria Mt. Vernon --> rejected, no counter3. $63, + Alexandria Pentagon --> rejected, no counter4. $78, + Arlington ---> ACCEPTED by JW Marriott! This was my first time bidding on a hotel, and most of the posts on here talked about counter offers - so I panicked after my 3rd bid was rejected with no counter and raised it $15. Maybe could have won a little lower, but, looking at big picture; it was still 50% off the lowest price I found. Not bad for Presidents Day weekend! Just curious, did they recently drop their counter offers, or did I just come in too low to start? Thanks! Link to comment
thereuare
Welcome to BetterBidding!Thank you for sharing your winning bid and results with the rest of the board. The counter-offers seem to have a bit of a randomness to them, and is discussed further in this thread: PRICELINE COUNTER-OFFER.A lot can be gained from a counter-offer, but i don't think too much can be gained from a lack of one.Enjoy your stay! Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
