Is there anything going on that week that would cause the prices to be so high? Although, it seems prices for inner harbor are higher mid-week than they are on the weekend.

It's the summer so it would seem logical that rates are a little higher than when compared to the winter months, and with hotel direct 4* hotels starting at $199/nite (with most closer to $300) hotels aren't in a hurry to deeply discount rates, rather hoping to sell rooms themselves at full price.

I looked up historical bids for this time of year and my bid was pretty close, and even higher...

Maybe I am bidding too early for this trip?

It is never a bad idea to make a cancelable back-up reservation. Then you can go on calmly bidding up to the last minute. One never really knows, things can become available at any time.

Hotwire shows a 4* for your date for $119. That would also suggest you are close.

If you have access to an Entertainment Book, and haven't used it already, it has a coupon good for $10 a night bonus on your bidding. Detailed instructions, and they do work. After you get the bonus $ into your PL account, you still can back out and go through the PRICELINE link here.

And if you've hit a wall on your budget, of course don't forget the 3 1/2*s.

This would account for seasonal differences in rates, but not date specific fluctuations... for any given reason (convention in town, orioles game, etc) this date may have higher rates than usual for this time of year and/or vs. last year at the same time.

Maybe the reason I was a little surprised, inner harbor has the best deal star...for 4*

maybe one shouldn't follow that as an indicator of the price...

Have you looked at the retail side of Priceline for your date? I won't spoil the surprise, but brace yourself. It is very unusual to get a deal better than 50% off by bidding.

I bid up to $92 , I think this is my limit as I need 2 rooms and will have to pay for

parking as well. I might book 2 bedroom staybridge inn with free diner and free parking for 189.00 plus tax

my family enjoys stopping at Baltimore inner harbor for the night, on our way to Hilton Head Island,SC

but it will end up costing over $300...

bid $70 and had a counter offer to add $22

I then bid with free zone $78 and the offer was exepted!

it sometimes pays to wait... the cheapest rate online was pay in advance 299.00
