terrills Posted April 27, 2010 Report Posted April 27, 2010 Hello,There are two Hotwire hotels I'd really like help identifying for the night of May 15th:a) Near Strip East 4*casino, fitness center, pool, restaurant, business center, high speed internet, golf nearby, tennis nearbyCustomer satisfaction 4.0$65 (two rooms, two adults, two children):) Near strip south 4*casino, fitness, restaurant, business, high speed, golf nearbycustomer satisfaction 4.0$79 (two rooms, two adults, two children)Ultimately our goal is to stay at either the MGM grand or Mandalay Bay on the night of the 16th. (Looking for a great pool for the 16th).Don't think we can afford both Sat and Sunday night at Mandalay or MGM so we're willing to change hotels during our two night trip! We'll find an inexpensive 4* on hotwire for saturday and then book MGM Grand or Mandalay directly Sunday night.I don't know if I've used up all my wishes or not, but would like to know if you have any idea what this might be:Strip South hotwire 5* $132/night 2 nights, 2 rooms, 2 adults 2 childrensmoke free rooms, fitness center, pool, restaurant, spa(still gathering reviews)Thanks so much. I really like your site.S
yellowdog Posted April 27, 2010 Report Posted April 27, 2010 Welcome to BetterBidding :) I can't get any of the hotels to appear on my search for your date. When you did the search did you search for 2 adults + 2 children or just 2 adults? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Yellowdog.PS. Please check and use our links (if possible) in the support page for your hotel direct purchases.
thereuare Posted April 27, 2010 Report Posted April 27, 2010 Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.... and your searches too! Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
terrills Posted April 27, 2010 Author Report Posted April 27, 2010 Hi,So sorry about that. The rates I gave you were based on a search for two nights (15th &16th of May). I should have realized that the rate changes if you're searching for one night!!When I search for Sat the 15th the rates are:75 for the 4* Near Strip East109 for the 4* Near Strip SouthAs for the 5* strip south $132 - this one is correct for 2 nights - 15th & 16th of May (2 adults, 2 children)I was actually considering this for both nights - if it's Mandalay Bay (which I don't think it is)I would love MGM or Mandalay Bay for both nights if I can find a great rate. Thanks again. Much appreciated.Sp.s. Yes, I always included the two children in my searches.
yellowdog Posted April 27, 2010 Report Posted April 27, 2010 Sorry for being slow but i don't follow you here. You're saying that the 4* should be for 1 night. And then you want to change hotel. The problem is that you need to do a new search for the 15th only. I get diffrent results with the diffrent dates. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Yellowdog.
terrills Posted April 27, 2010 Author Report Posted April 27, 2010 Hi Sorry for the confusion.I did do a search for the 15th only. This is what I found:$75 - 4* Near Strip East (casino, fitness, pool, restaurant, business center, high speed internet, golf nearby tennis nearby)4.0 satisfaction1 night, 2 adults, 2 children, 2 rooms$109 - 4* Near Strip South (casino, fitness, restaurant, business center, high speed internet golf nearby - no pool shown)4.0 satisfaction1 night, 2 adults, 2 children, 2 roomsPlan AI will book something through HOTWIRE for the 15th (will definitely use your link and will remember to use if for searches too)Will book Mandalay Bay or MGM grand directly for the 16th.Plan B (even better than Plan A!)Try to find Mandalay Bay or MGM Grand or Signature at MGM for a decent rate for both nights.I need two rooms for both nights and one room must have two double beds. Looking specifically for pools that would be fun for kids. When I search both nights there's one that could be Mandalay Bay - I think??Strip south5* $132Only 5 icons: smoke free rooms, fitness, pool, restaurant, spa4.5 customer satisfactionThanks so much and hope I've made things a little more clear.Susan
thereuare Posted April 28, 2010 Report Posted April 28, 2010 I did do a search for the 15th only. This is what I found:$75 - 4* Near Strip East (casino, fitness, pool, restaurant, business center, high speed internet, golf nearby tennis nearby)4.0 satisfaction1 night, 2 adults, 2 children, 2 roomsIf you go back to HOTWIRE and click the CONTINUE button next to this offering and then click the "See all " link on top of the icons, do you see more amenities than what you've listed above?$109 - 4* Near Strip South (casino, fitness, restaurant, business center, high speed internet golf nearby - no pool shown)4.0 satisfaction1 night, 2 adults, 2 children, 2 roomsA match for the South Point so that would be my best guess for this one.Plan AI will book something through HOTWIRE for the 15th (will definitely use your link and will remember to use if for searches too)Will book Mandalay Bay or MGM grand directly for the 16th.Thanks in advance for using our HOTWIRE links for purchases. Please note as per the support page that we're also an affiliate of the MGM Grand and Mandalay Bay... please use these links if you end up booking these properties direct.I need two rooms for both nights and one room must have two double beds. You're not going to be able to guarantee room configuration when using PRICELINE or HOTWIRE. If you search for more than double occupancy in a room you can ensure separate sleeping accommodations, but the second 'bed' could be a pullout sofabed, rollaway, etc. When I search both nights there's one that could be Mandalay Bay - I think??Strip south5* $132Only 5 icons: smoke free rooms, fitness, pool, restaurant, spa4.5 customer satisfactionThis property hasn't yet been reported to the board, but it's been asked about before, and the current guess/speculation is the Vdara. Thanks for using our PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links for your purchases. (or our MGM Grand and Mandalay Bay if you decide to go that route)Based upon all the above, what are your current thoughts? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases

(if this doesn't help just put the text you wanted quoted in your post in quotes (") and we'll format for you)The 4* Near Strip East property above is a match for the Hilton so that would be my best guess for that one. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. terrills Posted May 10, 2010 Author Report Posted May 10, 2010 Hi Thanks again for your help.Just one last question before I book:I noticed people have mentioned "Central Strip" in terms of areas in Vegas on HOTWIRE. I have never seen Central Strip show up in my search. In terms of being right on the strip, I have only seen "strip north" and "strip south". Am I missing something? On PRICELINE, I see only Strip North (there's no strip south - just "strip vicinity south")?Should there be a strip south on PRICELINE?Thanks so much and I"ll definitely book through your site and post results.Susan
thereuare Posted May 10, 2010 Report Posted May 10, 2010 HOTWIRE used to use a "Central Strip zone" but has recently redrawn the boundaries for this area and the new zones are only Strip South, Strip North, and Strip North Vicinity. On PRICELINE there is a Strip North, Strip South, and Strip South Vicinity.Use the Hotwire Hotel List and Priceline Hotel List to determine the current zones and the hotels located within each. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help.
