I don't know exactily about zone beacuse of that this visitink will be first time in new york .

So every zone with acceses to rail ,close to center, good neighborhood and best value.

However, in order to compare apples-to-apples, your potential back-up reservation above is not really that close to the subway nor very centrally located... about a 10 minute walk. Is this an acceptable location for you so we know if this is a realistic option and the 'price to beat'.

You can't bid on a specific hotel with PRICELINE... you have to be willing to accept any hotel in the zone at the star rating (or higher) that you select.

Did you read the I've Never Used Priceline or Hotwire thread?? :)

If you enter a bid and a hotel accepts it, PRICELINE automatically charges your credit card and you are then told the details (hotel name, address, etc) and you own the reservation... there are no changes, cancellations, refunds, etc.

Then, with nearly 6 months to go before your stay, you should do a bit more research :)

The INK48 is a new hotel and gets very good reviews, but it also somewhat 'out of the way' for the average first time visitor. So it's really up to you as far as what you're looking for from this stay and if you're comfortable with an 'opaque purchase' or not.
