buckbull63 Posted April 25, 2010 Report Posted April 25, 2010 I used the HOTWIRE link on the boards to search for June 14, 2010 and there is a 4* MCO area hotel for $55. We would really like to stay at the Hyatt. I have read all the past posts dealing with this topic.I know that the Renaissance and the Hyatt are the only two in this area and level and have the same amentities list. The details page lists a hotwire rating of 4.5 (for overall and all the subcategories) with a 90% customer recommendation rate and 500+ reviews. The trip advisor rating however, shows 4.0. I checked TA and currently it lists Hyatt as 4.5 and Renaissance as 4.0. I have tried to change days in my search to see if the "other" hotel's details will show up and be different than mine, but no luck (so nothing to compare it to).Has anyone bought lately on HOTWIRE with the same details? If so, what was your result? Is there information to differentiate between the hotels based on their HOTWIRE ratings instead of TA's?Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
AaronJB Posted April 25, 2010 Report Posted April 25, 2010 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)The tripadvisor rating on the detail page is not constantly updated, but in terms of current rating, the Renaissance is 4/5 and the Hyatt is 4.5/5. Given that this listing is 4/5, it would more likely be the Renaissance. There is nothing to compare the HOTWIRE customer rating % to, as one can compare the tripadvisor ratings to tripadvisor.comPlease use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
thereuare Posted April 26, 2010 Report Posted April 26, 2010 The hotel you're currently being offered shows a 4.0 TA rating... best guess is that this is the Renaissance. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. buckbull63 Posted April 26, 2010 Author Report Posted April 26, 2010 Thanks for the help. Is there any previous info on the two hotels' Hotwire ratings to differentiate the two? If not, I am just going to wait it out and possibly buy a Hyatt stay certificate. This will save a little bit at least off the almost $200 regular rate. Thanks again.
AaronJB Posted April 26, 2010 Report Posted April 26, 2010 Unfortunately, there is no defined link to the HOTWIRE rating for either hotel. If you decide to go the Hyatt route, please use the site's Hyatt link in the Support/Travel links section. Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
buckbull63 Posted April 26, 2010 Author Report Posted April 26, 2010 Thank you. I will definitely use the links. In the meantime, if anyone wins a bid for this area and category please post the results with the hotwire ratings. Thanks.

buckbull63 Posted April 27, 2010 Author Report Posted April 27, 2010 I think I may have found something. Tell me what you guys think.I searched for the same date again (using the link here), but this time I put in 2 adults and 2 children. The room came up for $214 with all the exact same hotwire ratings as the original search, but with a 4.5 TA rating. I did my original search again (2 adults only) and it went back to a $56 rate and a 4.0 TA rating. At least this seems to tell us that these two hotels have the exact same hotwire ratings as of right now. Also, from what you guys said, it seems like the 4.5 TA rating is the Hyatt and the 4.0 TA rating is the Renaissance. Hopefully this will help others and at least I'm pretty sure we wouldn't get the Hyatt with the 4.0 TA rating. Unless the offerings change, I will be purchasing a Stay Certificate from Hyatt (using the link) for a little bit of savings at least. Thanks for everyone's help. This is a very helpful site. Let's continue to support it. Please use the links on the site for any applicable search/purchase.
thereuare Posted April 27, 2010 Report Posted April 27, 2010 Before you purchase the certificate i'd suggest calling Hyatt first to make sure it's valid/accepted on the nite that you need :)Keep us updated with any changes in your plans or if we can be of further help. buckbull63 Posted April 28, 2010 Author Report Posted April 28, 2010 You can actually book it online for the particular night without buying the certificate. Then if the Hyatt comes up on Hotwire later, I could always cancel my original reservation before actually purchasing the certificate. If Hyatt never shows up on Hotwire, I will buy the certificate about 2 weeks before leaving and use it.BTW...just tried to use the Hyatt link from the page and it said it was expired?
thereuare Posted April 28, 2010 Report Posted April 28, 2010 Yeah, i haven't time to take the link down... they no longer have a referral program. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
buckbull63 Posted May 29, 2010 Author Report Posted May 29, 2010 Just wanted to update...After patiently waiting, the Hyatt information came up on Hotwire for my dates at a cheaper rate and I booked it at $54. I figured this saves about $73 from a stay certificate. Thanks for everyone's help.
