Yes, this is a great location. Right on the river. You have the Magnificent Mile (shopping) to the north, the Loop to the southwest, and Navy Pier to the northeast. Also there is a Giordano's pizzeria (better pizza than Uno's or Due's, IMO) about a block away in the first floor of the Prudential Plaza building. The Millennium Park is just on the other side of the Prudential Plaza. The Randolph Street Metra Station is right there as well -- which takes you south to the Museum Campus (Field Museum and Shedd Aquarium), Hyde Park, University of Chicago and Museum of Science and Industry.

Certainly agree on Giordano's, plus I've found that location tends to be somewhat quieter (on average) than the others.
