Hotwire Hotel: 3.5* Tampa (Westshore-Tampa Airport TPA-South) Doubletree

I booked this deal also ($56 a night doubletree westshore) and phoned the hotel to request a renovated room. I have read reviews online of people receiving non-renovated, unpleasent rooms in this hotel. The woman on the phone told me that she could only place the "request" in since I booked through HOTWIRE, and if it is available when I arrive i will receive it. Does anyone know the likelyhood that I will/will not receive a renovated room? Are they usually full or empty around this time of year?
