thereuare
There has been a lot of confusion with some of the information HOTWIRE is now including with some of their listings, so we'll hopefully use this post to make some clarifications:Recommended in xx% of Customer Reviews - this information comes from feedback that HOTWIRE has received from its customers over the years. It is not a statistic that comes from Tripadvisor or any other source, and is therefore not published elsewhere, so there is no way to cross-reference this in order to try to ID the propertyTotal Reviews - again, this is the number of reviews HOTWIRE has received from its customers, and is unrelated to the number of reviews shown to be associated with the hotel at Tripadvisor.Overall Satisfacation - this is the average rating of the 5 categories (condition, service, comfort, cleanliness, location) HOTWIRE uses when asking guests to rate a hotel. This is not the same as the Tripadvisor user review rating. When a Tripadvisor user review rating is shown for a given property, it is shown as green circles immediately next to the Tripadvisor logo. thereuare
Note that every service (HOTWIRE, PRICELINE, Expedia, Hotels.com, Travelocity, etc, etc) each use their own criteria to rate hotels, and the same hotel can be rated differently thru each service. If a hotel rated 3 stars by HOTWIRE will not necessarily be rated 3 stars by Expedia, PRICELINE, Hotels.com, etc, etc. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
mazinblu
On several threads within the HW forum, I have seen references to bidding on Hotwire, e.g., a recent post concerning Chicago Hotels.I did not realize that you could bid on HW and I do not see a link to do so.Am I missing something or did I misread the post?thank you Link to comment
AaronJB
There is no bidding on HOTWIRE, only the listings.Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. Link to comment
thereuare
Some users will use the word bid even though they are purchasing on HOTWIRE... OR sometimes a thread starts out in the PRICELINE section of the board, but if they ultimately use HOTWIRE we then move the entire thread to that section of the board; so a thread can begin with bidding and PRICELINE, but ultimately appear in the HOTWIRE forum if that is the service that was ultimately used. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
