mariposa Posted April 21, 2010 Report Posted April 21, 2010 Hi, I see on the board that a lot of people got the Sheraton in Old San Juan, PR via Priceline. Are people just getting that when they pick San Juan as the neighborhood they want? I'd like to stay in Old San Juan, but I don't see that as an option on Priceline. Would appreciate any tips! Thanks.Edit: Now I see that this hotel just happens to pop up a lot, but it's in the San Juan zone on Priceline. Can anyone familiar with the San Juan hotels and the star ratings tell me if there's a way to increase my chances of getting a hotel in Old San Juan? Seems like the 3.5 star route could be good, but maybe there's a better way...
yellowdog Posted April 21, 2010 Report Posted April 21, 2010 You can't bid on a specific hotel or increase your chances when using PRICELINE. You need to be willing to stay at any 3.5* or higher in the zone you're bidding at.If you're trying to target a specific property then HOTWIRE can often be a better option if you're successfully able to identify it based upon the star rating and amenities shown before your purchase... the trade-off is that HOTWIRE usually costs a little more than PRICELINE, so you need to decide what is most important to you for a given stay, the lowest possible price OR the ability to take an educated guess as to the property you may receive.Let us know how we can help you further.Yellowdog.Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
