natetc Posted April 20, 2010 Report Posted April 20, 2010 Needed a last-minute hotel booking as my flight to London was promised to actually happen (it did not, after waiting at the airport for 6 hours this morning). However I wanted to report this previously unreported hotel.DETAILS:Congratulations, your price of $120 was accepted by Hesperia London Victoria.4* hotel roomHesperia London Victoria2 Bridge PlaceLondon, SW1V 1QA44-20-7834-8123Check-In: Tuesday, April 20, 2010-02:00 PM Check-Out: Thursday, April 22, 2010-12:00 PM Room Cost (avg. per room, per night): $120.00 (USD) Number of Rooms: 1 Number of Nights: 2 Room Subtotal: $240.00 (USD) Taxes and Fees: $55.52 (USD) Total Room Cost: $295.52 (USD) My first bid was $105, second was $120 as it was my last chance to bid. I'm sure I could have booked at a lower rate, however I was booking the same day as check-in, so I had very few options.FYI - I have previously reported having a really good experience with Priceline refunding my booking due to volcanic ash. I did not purchase trip cancellation insurance that time, nor did I this time, and they had no problem refunding the full amount of my booking. Was a bit surprised to see this hotel pop up as it had never been reported before; would have been nice to see it but it seems that it was not meant to be.Used BB's PRICELINE link to bid.
Will Posted April 20, 2010 Report Posted April 20, 2010 Could you confirm if this is a 4* or 5* hotel as rated by PL? Good luck getting home. Thanks
yellowdog Posted April 20, 2010 Report Posted April 20, 2010 Congratulations on your success!Thank you for sharing your win with the board and using our PRICELINE link to begin your bidding :) Also thanx for the addition for this new property to the BetterBidding Priceline Hotel ListHope you'll get a flight soon!Enjoy your stay.Yellowdog.
MrB Posted April 21, 2010 Report Posted April 21, 2010 Please post a brief review. The hotel looks ok (free internet) but not your typical 4* in London and some iffy reviews with a rack rate of GBP120 or so. I have seen quite a few new hotwire (and now priceline) hotels appearing in London and not all of these are deserving of their initial * rating and I know of at least one bidder who got a refund from hotwire although I can't remember if this was before or after their stay (I think before because the discrepancy was too obvious). I recently stayed at a superb 5* for not much more than this (booked through this site!) but have previously booked 4 star in London on priceline without hesitation but I may now lean towards 5* or hotwire in this star category given this hotel is a possibility.
