valjean13 Posted April 18, 2010 Report Posted April 18, 2010 I just bought a 4* Sydney hotel, zone A (Sydney). Winning hotel was the Stamford Plaza Sydney Airport hotel. The map Hotwire gave me with the location showed it being in the central city, yet if you look up the given address on google maps it shows the hotel being located directly beside the airport. Which is a completely different zone, zone B. I looked up the hotel on Tripadvisor, and sure enough all the pictures show it being located next to the airport, well outside of the green zone on Hotwire. After calling customer service they did refund my money and say they'd look into their computer system, but who knows how long it will take to fix it. So in the meantime, be careful booking a 4* in Sydney, it might be in the wrong zone!
AaronJB Posted April 18, 2010 Report Posted April 18, 2010 Sorry to hear that you were disappointed with the result and that the location wasn't what you were expecting, but glad to hear that HOTWIRE responded well. Can you confirm the amenities that were showing with this listing (this information should be under the trip information in your account), the price paid (before tax/fee) and the date/s of travel (so that this win can appear in the site's Calendar of Wins.) Thank you.Thank you for sharing your win with the board and please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.Enjoy your stay.
valjean13 Posted April 19, 2010 Author Report Posted April 19, 2010 Ooops, sorry I was so focused on the fact that the hotel was wrong and that I didn't actually end up using the booking. It was a 4*,Sydney Australia, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Business Center, High Speed Internet, Shuttle. $114, July 17.
