Priceline Hotel: Resort Kauai (Poipu-Koloa) Sheraton

Just won a bid for $115 at the Sheraton Resort in the Poipu area of Kauai via Priceline. Started at 105 and re-bid to 110 with both failing. Bid again today at 112 and it asked me to bid $22 more. I re-bid at $115 and it was accepted.

I used the PRICELINE link from the forums and really appreciate places such as these existing to help out so many individuals.

I have a question if anyone could help me with. I'm currently trying to bid for the Westin located in Princeville for the first part of my vacation and Priceline has it listed in the 3.5* category. I'm wondering if I bid in the Princeville area and am rejected, can I re-bid with the Poipu - Koloa area listed since Poipu - Koloa doesn't have any 3.5* hotel categories, but it does have resort hotels? I'm just not sure if they consider resorts a 3.5* and above (Sheraton, Hyatt, etc..) as well or a separate category all together. I'm assuming it is indeed a separate category, but I didn't want to risk it or a lot of driving will fall into my lap. :)

Congratulations on your success! Glad to hear the board has been helpful and that you're happy with the results for this leg of your trip.

The star rating you select is the minimum you're willing to accept, and PRICELINE will always try to upgrade you to a higher rated hotel if possible. Therefore, you can not use Poipu as a re-bid zone, as if you do, your 3.5* bid could be upgraded to a Resort rated property.
