txw888 Posted April 18, 2010 Report Posted April 18, 2010 I'm looking to get a hotel in San Juan, I would perfer the resorts. This is my first trip to puerto rico, I'm a little confused about the locations, there are 8 different locations on priceline, looks like #8 is the area I want to be, and all the 4 stars and resorts are in there. So how do I go about bidding and re-bidding? I want to spent around $100-120. thanks

txw888 Posted April 19, 2010 Author Report Posted April 19, 2010 started from $90, re-bid 6 times, finally got it at $111 for the Inter-Continental resort~~!! pretty happy with the price, but been reading very mixed reviews from tripadviser though.... anyone stayed here before? Details of the trip, 5/22-5/25 2010 3 nights, $111
thereuare Posted April 19, 2010 Report Posted April 19, 2010 Congratulations on your success!Almost all hotels in San Juan get very mixed reviews... it's an expensive hotel market and when paying more, guests often expect more. However, due to cultural differences, service levels often fall short of expectations in this area. San Juan is still very much an island and operates on "island time", meaning that there doesn't often appear to be much of a rush to do anything... direct contrast to what many hotel guests expect when paying high prices; this is often the reason for many of the mixed reviews, imo. With the above noted this is one of the better rated hotels in San Juan, great pool and beach. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Enjoy your stay.
