YIKES, :) that seems really expensive, or is this the standard price for this area? Any insight or suggestions on a cheaper rate? Should I just keep a daily watch on this price? thereuare Posted April 17, 2010 Report Share Posted April 17, 2010 The rate you're seeing on HOTWIRE is not an "opaque" rate... if you click thru you'll see the name of the rental company before your purchase... this indicates that HOTWIRE doesn't have any inventory for these dates. I don't know if this is because there is something happening in the city during this timeframe which is consuming all available cars OR if it's simply a low-competition market and therefore discounts are hard to come by.Given you have time before your stay i would start PRICELINE bidding at $25 and increase $3-$5 every 24 hours.Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... and your searches too!Keep us updated and let us know what you decide or if we can be of further help.
