Priceline Hotel: Tokyo Sunroute Plaza Shinjuku Hotel is 3* or 4* ?

Trip is from 9/15/10-9/22/10.

Total is 8 days 7 nights.

I am aiming on 4* Crowne Plaza Metropolitan in Ikebukuro, Japan.

Bid started from $80 and been increase to $100 and no luck.

I checked Expedia and they are offering average $110 per night.

So is that means the hotel is not offering any room on priceline right now?

I am aiming on $95 per night.

Shinjuku - Ikebukuro zone is always busy. And my guess is that you're a bit early to get a deal here.

I would book a refundable hotel and keep trying.

You mention the avarage price. What is the highest price/night? You need to crack this on PRICELINE to get a hit.

PS. have you looked a the location for the 4* Sunroute Plaza so you're ok with this. It's a nice hotel but not in Ikebukuro if you need to be there.

I used the PRICELINE for hotel bidding.

For 4* Crowne Plaza Metropolitan, with the discount

highest price is $131, lowest is 101, average is $112.06

For the Sunroute Plaza is it the one in Shinjuku Link ?

The average price for it is $104.74/night. (Sat/Sun for $124 and $96 for normal days)

That is the price with discount from Expedia.

and the upgrade room cost about $126.66/night.

also for price-line, am I able to bin on a upgrade room?

I have another important question,

What kind of room type is priceline usually provide?

For most JP hotel they have,

1) Economy Double Room

2)Standard Queen Room

3)Standard Twin Room

4)and King size bed type,

My guess is the winning one will be the Economy double room type?

PRICELINE and HOTWIRE accommodations are for 'standard' rooms... sometimes you can get lucky and get upgraded automatically, sometimes for the asking, sometimes for an additional fee, and sometimes not at all (even if willing to pay an additional fee)

Upgrades are mostly based upon hotel occupancy, what is available at the time of check-in, and the general mood of the front desk clerk.

I am trying to bid on Tokyo Sunroute Plaza Shinjuku Hotel on PRICELINE,

I have bid up to $90 for 4* but did not win anything yet.

From the normal search on priceline the hotel is list under 3*,

But ppl here list it as 4*.

Should I lower my pirceline name your price to 3* too?

The Sunroute Plaza hasn't been reported to the board in about a year... the last time it was reported it was 4* rated, but it appears to have been downgraded since then and is now 3* rated by PRICELINE.
