Priceline Hotel: NYC - 4* hotel - 2 Jun - 6 Jun 2010

Hi,

I just heard about priceline from a friend and he said we can get very good hotel deals using the website. I find this is a very useful forum, so I'm so thankful for the info provided here!! :)

I'm planning to go to NYC for my very first time on 2 Jun - 6 Jun 2010 and looking for 2 rooms (for 4 people) at a 4* hotel around MTE MTW or ESB area. My budget is $150 a night for each room. Do you think it is possible to get such deal? or should I start my bid lower, eg from $100 (with $5 increment using the re-bedding technique)?

And is it to early to start bidding now for my stay in June? If I bid later, nearer my departure date, do you think I can get a better price, since the hotels will be more willing to lower their prices...

You can certainly try, but i'm guessing that at the moment your budget will likely come up a little short... i suspect a bid of $165-$185 is a bit more closer to the 'right' area for a 4* property. However, your budget probably is a enough for a 3.5* property.
