gonetravelin Posted April 14, 2010 Report Posted April 14, 2010 This is not the right place for this, but I can't figure out how to post separetly, so <<sorry>>I've seen on other posts tips to only bid once a week or so, and i was wondering if there's any reason for this? Will i have worse luck bidding every day? I would have thought this would have an affect...I've been bidding (every day) from $77 up to $93 for 3*+ Boston (Copley, Harbor, Quincy areas). June 17-20. Rejected. (i did see someone got a 4* for $75 for the same dates...)Thanks for any insight!
gonetravelin Posted April 15, 2010 Author Report Posted April 15, 2010 Using the PRICELINE link from this site, i've been bidding for the last few days, using the tricks detailed here. After no luck getting a 4* for up to $107 (harbor, quincy mkt, copley sq), I added 3.5*, started bidding at $85, then $92, $97, finally got this for $101/night. The reviews for the Boston Park Plaza are pretty bad - small rooms, old furnishings, overheated...so i'm pretty disappointed and now wishing I had either waited or stuck to just 4*.... and this hotel offers a room for $143 on its website, too, so it's not exactly a huge bargain....<sigh> :)
yellowdog Posted April 15, 2010 Report Posted April 15, 2010 Thank you for sharing your win with the board and using our PRICELINE link to begin your bidding :) Sorry to see that you don't like the outcome. Let's hope that you stay will be better than the reviews then.Enjoy your stay.Yellowdog.
