Would appreciate any and all help. Want to book two rooms per night for 5/19 and 5/21. Will have a rental car but still would like to stay in central location. I have heard that both Wynn and Venetian are good choices. I want to make sure my in-laws have a good time - first time for both of them. I was hoping for someplace nice with a pool.

Anyway, the two properties I have looked at from HOTWIRE are the Wynn and Venetian.

If I look at 5/19 to 5/21 the only 5 star property I see in HOTWIRE for 2 rooms with 2 people per room is

$149 per night with total amenities as

Resort

Suite

Casino

Fitness center

Pool(s)

Restaurant(s)

Business Center

High-speed Internet Access

Golf Nearby

Tennis Nearby

Spa Services

Based on reading other messages in this forum I think this is the Venetian. Total cost = $678.19

--------------

If I book only for one night 5/19 to 5/20 - I see this same hotel for $99 a night for total of $230.25

-------

If I look at 5/20-5/21 - I see a hotel 5 star in north strip for $108 per night with for total of $250.04

Casino

Fitness center

Pool(s)

Restaurant(s)

Business Center

Golf Nearby

Tennis Nearby

Spa Services

This (from other messages) seems to be the Wynn.

So I guess my questions to all the wise people here are

1) Have I id'd the places reasonably correctly ?

2) Is it worth staying first at the Venetian and then at the Wynn - this way can experience both ?

3) savings of almost $200 worth it ?

Thank you for your replies.

I cant comment on the identification but as someone who has been to Vegas about 8 times, each time for min 10 nights, having stayed at Venetian, Caesers, Planet Hollywood, MGM, etc, but not Wynn;

Venetian is more central. Hotels in Vegas look close, but are in fact can be a long trek. Some of them have 4000 rooms , and can take 10mins to even get inside and find the communal area you are after (shop, restaurant, etc).

Anyway, back to what I was saying, Venetian is a tad more central. Central I would call Bellagio. The rooms at the Venetian are very nice, all suites and the pools are also very very good. The casino is awful as are the shops (total overpriced tat).

The Wynn will be a normal room. Overall the Wynn is a bit classier. The casino is where I spend a lot of my time and in general its a much nicer feeling hotel/casino/resort.

Having taken my own parents and in laws before (thank God separately), being central seems quite a priority to them. I am not sure $200 worth though. Maybe wait a little closer to the time? Look at the deal I found on Hotwire for Aria a few threads down.

Is Caesers an option coming up for those dates on Hotwire? The $20 trick works exceptionally well there and the location is very good. Augustus Tower is only slightly overshadowed by the rooms at the Venetian, but the location, casino and shops make it by preferrence over the Venetian.

No, the 5* 5/19 to 5/21 can be booth Venetian and Palzzo. There's no way to separate them for the moment.

But i agree with your guess for the 5* 5/20-5/21. This looks like the Wynn

2) Is it worth staying first at the Venetian and then at the Wynn
If you ask me? No, i wouldn't change hotel for one night. But this your trip and your chooice.

Please use the site's HOTWIRE link to start your purchase, and let us know how it goes or if you need any additional help with your stay.

5* for 5/19 - is the Venetian. I just booked it for $99 per room for 2 rooms. Anyone ever have any luck getting resort fee waived ?

and the other 5* for 5/20 is the Wynn for $108 a night per room for 2 rooms.

Congratulations on your win(s).

We've used this thread to reflect your purchase of the Venetian... can you please start a NEW TOPIC with your win of the Wynn so that others will be aware of that stay as well when searching the topic titles of the board and the Priceline and Hotwire Calendar of Wins.

The resort fee at the Venetian is fairly new, but it's getting harder and harder to get the resort fees waived and most properties these days.

Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.

Enjoy your stay(s).

Wow. It seems like everyone on here has gotten some pretty darn good deals for trips to Vegas. While I realize that this an older post, I can't help but wonder if what I'm wanting to do is right. Upon looking for travel agents in my area, I happened to stumble upon this thread somehow. I'm seriously considering going through a travel agent to get the best deal on my flight, hotel, and so on. Of course, seeing these deals makes me wonder if I'd be making a costly mistake. I DO plan on staying for an entire week and frankly, I am the type of person that needs to plan things ahead of time. Don't travel agents do that?

Either way, I'd greatly appreciate any sort of advice! If you DO happen to recommend going through a travel agent, where can I find reputable reviews? Are Google review reliable? How about Angie's List?

O.K. I can see I'm rambling now. Any help (at all) would be greatly appreciated. I'm probably going to visit in another few months (September, maybe?). Take care, folks. I can already tell I'll be enjoying this site. =)

ShopShopBaby,

If you're looking for somebody to do all the legwork for you then you can try to find yourself a travel agent... if you're looking for the best price and willing to do some research yourself, then you can probably do better making your own travel arrangements.

Once you're ready to book and move forward, please start a NEW TOPIC for your own stay and we'll help you there.
