Hotwire Hotel: 4* DC (Dupont Circle-Embassy Row) The Dupont Hotel

Dates are 5/27/10 to 6/1/10 and I am looking for something in the area of Dupont Circle, but I really dont want the Omni.

Hotwire currently shows the following:

Dupont Circle - Embassy Row area $109

4*

Amenities: No Smoking, Fitness, Restaurant, Business Center, High Speed Internet Access

Recommended in 90% of customer reviews

Overall satisfaction 4.5

Tripadvisor Rating 4.0

Based upon the Better Bidding hotwire hotel list, my best guess is The Dupont Hotel (which currently retails for $153.85 per night average on the hotels website). My second guess would be Hotel Palomar (which is actually the hotel I want and I have a fully refundable reservation with them as backup). Hotel Palomar retails for about $180 a night on their website (their AAA rate is $161 but they dont have any rooms available at that rate).

Since it doesnt show a pool I am hoping its not Omni because that is the one 4* in the area, that has been won quite a lot, that I dont want. I see the other 4* I havent mentioned is Donovan House and I would be okay with that too but that usually shows boutique and the hotwire hotel does not.

I know Hotwire is a gamble but I think I have done my homework pretty well, and I know there is always the chance a hotel rating has changed, or a new hotel has appeared, but I am just looking for some help identifying this hotel (or validating what I think it is).

And of course, when it comes time to book I will be using the Better Bidding HOTWIRE link.

The HOTWIRE property above also shows a Tripadvisor rating of 4.0/5.0, which is a match for the Donovan House, and not the Palomar... so the Donovan House would be my best guess for the offering above.

The hotel on HOTWIRE did not show as a boutique but the Donovan does in the Hotwire Hotel list - do you think the list is out of date? BTW I checked the retail price of Donovan House on their website at its $250 a night - so if it is Donovan at $109 (today it shows as $105 actually) then thats a steal!

Still thinking about whether I want to pay more for the exact hotel I want or to take a chance on this hotel - if I use Hotwire I will make sure I use the Better Bidding HOTWIRE link.

Sorry, that was a typo... it should read the Dupont Hotel, as this property and the Palomar have the same amenities, and i believe that is the hotel you're seeing above.

Booked it using the Better Bidding HOTWIRE link and it was Hotel Dupont.

At the time of booking it showed:

4* hotel Dupont Circle/Embassy Row $109 per night

Amenities: non-smoking, fitness, restaurant, business center, high speed internet access

Customer satisfaction 90% (4.5 out of 5.0)

Trip Advisor rating 4.0

Five nights from 5/27 - 6/1

Room Cost $545

Taxes $86.09

Total price charged to credit card $631.09
