Priceline Hotel: 3.5* NYC (MTE) Millennium UN

Hi guys,

I need a hotel for just that one night, which unfortunately for me is when some of the city schools are doing graduation ceremonies and what not. I'm getting no luck anywhere close to the prices I see people getting here for 4* hotels. I tried going up to 175 for MTE MTW TS and CPS and didn't get anything.

Am I bidding too early? Given that it's going to be around graduation times, do you think prices will be cheaper a couple days beforehand?

Thanks in advance!

Welcome to Betterbidding. :)

Rates for the Spring have gone up in recent weeks, and rates do vary by dates (so what may be enough for a certain set of dates may not be enough for others.) Please provide your desired max budget per night for your stay and we would be happy to offer suggestions on how to proceed.

Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

In regards to waiting to book, see the related "bid early or late" link in our PRICELINE FAQ. If this is a busy time of year (not just seasonally but due to graduation(s) as well) and hotels are filling up, rates could increase closer to check-in, rather than decrease.

Now that you've already bid up to $175 for a 4*, do you now want to try for a 3.5* up to $155? (or some other bid amount) If so, which zone(s) are you willing to accept at the 3.5* level?

I actually tried bidding up to 185 for a 4* and didn't have any luck =(

I also tried bidding up to 150 for a 3.5* and didn't get any either.

I dunno...at this point it seems kind of pointless to bid since I can get a 4* on HOTWIRE or another site for a little over 200. I feel like I might as well wait a couple days and see what happens.

What do you think?

Have you tried identifying the HOTWIRE 4* you're referring to? It may or may not be 4* rated on PRICELINE, so you have to make sure you're comparing apples-to-apples.

Are you able to find anything acceptable that you could book now, lock in the price, and is still fully refundable... at least this would protect you from further rate increases and still allow you to try to beat your 'known' back-up.
