nofrills9 Posted April 13, 2010 Report Posted April 13, 2010 I live in Australia but I have a Mastercard debit card in US$, and would like to bid and pay for hotels on PRICELINE. Can I do this? PRICELINE only asks for credit cards - unlike HOTWIRE which states either credit or debit card. I did not want to give details of debit card then came to the end of the bid to find out it was rejected.I understand that I check into the hotels it is better to give the hotels the imprint of a credit card - and not a debit card. But, with bidding on PRICELINE if I win the money is taken out straightaway from the credit or debit card.
thereuare Posted April 13, 2010 Report Posted April 13, 2010 If your debit card has the MasterCard logo it can be used for bidding. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
nofrills9 Posted April 13, 2010 Author Report Posted April 13, 2010 Thanks, thereuare. Yes, my debit card has a Mastercard logo on it. It was rather strange - I sent an email to Priceline asking them the same question. Their reply was that I could not bid on Priceline as a non-US resident, and I should take the normal prices shown in their website (no name your own price). However, I bid and won the Doubletree in Orange (near the Crystal Cathedral) with my debit Mastercard.
