Priceline Hotel: Chicago - Lincoln Park area

Priceline has a section for bidding on hotels in the Lincoln Park section of Chicago. I did not see a hotel list for Lincoln Park on the forum, here. Perhaps Lincoln Park is a new section on Priceline?

I was wondering if anyone here has bid on hotels in Lincoln Park. I'd like to know what hotels Priceline is using in that part of the city before I bid. Thank you.

The Lincoln Park zone has been around for more than a year, but it's not a particularly optimal zone to bid within - there are only a few (literally) hotels in general in that area (a Days Inn, a Best Western and a trio of 3-4 larger independent hotels; that's really it) As such, there's likely going to be minimal discounting - and given the lack of hotels in the area, many simply choose to stay downtown and take transit up to Lincoln Park (which is an easy trip.) While it certainly may vary from day-to-day, you're probably more likely to get more hotel for the money downtown. I'd be happy to look though - what are your dates of travel?

The other issue with the Lincoln Park properties during this time of year is that they fill up with people coming to see Cubs games - especially the Best Western near Wrigley. It's rather surprising that they fill up so quickly, when there's so many hotels downtown and it's only a 10 minute "L" ride North to Wrigley.

I don't think this is a new zone (AaronJB will be able to comment better in this regard) but more likely an unpopular zone not bid very often... do you need to be in this specific area?

If you enter "North Clark St and West Diversey Parkway, Chicago" into the search box at MAPS and HOTELS.com you can see the hotels PRICELINE uses on the retail side, but note that not all hotels in the retail section of their website necessarily participate in the "bidding" side of their site, and vice versa, but at least you can get an idea of some of what might be offered.

What are the date(s) of your stay? What is your target star rating and budget?

On previous trips to Chicago, I always stayed downtown, but I have family near Lincoln Park, so I thought I'd check into hotels in that area.

Looking for a hotel for a couple of days in mid May. 3.5 stars would be great.

Thanks for the feedback. I appreciate the help!

Additionally, there's also a Lincoln Park zone on HOTWIRE - no hotels have been reported to the board via HOTWIRE in this zone, either - and prices often seem not terribly far from regular rates in the area. Additionally, I've noted a number of times when there were better deals on HOTWIRE at downtown properties than in Lincoln Park.

Which dates are you looking for exactly? (So that we can research what is available.)
