yet I have seen others consistently getting 65-75 all day long. am i too far in advance? should i wait 2-4 weeks prior, or is that date just a bad day?

Both of the 'known' 4* hotels in this zone are $200+ for this nite, making your bids thus far well under half of prevailing rates. As we have seen no wins in this zone for any dates in the future, i'd book a cancellable back-up and give it some time... bid only once a week for the next month.
