The Sheraton Biscayne Bay is closed as of 06/17/2005. It is being torn down to build a multi-use condominium. A press release can be found here:

Doing a google search for the address 495 Brickell Ave, one can follow this link to see what is being buit at the property site:

It's a shame, as the Sheraton offered great Priceline deals. :)

The Hotwire hotel list for Portland, OR shows both a Greater Downtown as well as a Financial District zone. It looks like Hotwire has merged the two zones, with the Financial zone no longer displaying. I can confirm The Portland Marriott, which is the only hotel listed in the Financial zone, now lies within the Greater Downtown Portland area zone.

As of July 1 the Park Place Hotel (Rochester, NY - Airport area) has changed its name to Radisson which it apparently was a few years ago.

Per Hotwire's vacation product, the Atlantis, Peppermill and Hilton in Reno have all been downgraded from 4 stars to 3.5. Current amenities listed for all 3 properties in the vacation package are consistant with those posted here on the hotel list.

Note: The Atlantis and Peppermill currently have identical amenities in the vacation package. They are: Casino, Shuttle, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Spa, Golf, Tennis & Business Center.

Note This is now the 2nd time I have noticed accessing past purchases in my Hotwire account do not reflect recent changes to amenity/star levels.

Did you happen to notice if the Silver Legacy is still rated 4*?

Silver Legacy didn't display on the original dates I checked.

But I just checked different dates, and sure enough, it's now 3.5 stars as well. Amenities are: Casino, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Spa, Business.

Has Hotwire been downgrading to this extent elsewhere?

I read that the Hyatt Regency Downtown Miami was upgraded by Priceline from 3* to 4*. I plugged in random dates in their package section to confirm. The hotel has indeed been upgraded.

:) Bidding downtown Phoenix for a 3* looks like it got a little safer. The Holiday Inn midtown is now rated a 2.5* in PLs vacation packages.

$33 dollar a night Hyatt here we come. :)

Apparently, Priceline HK/SGP will not only have a new zone for Hongkong (Lantau/Silvermine), but also for Singapore ("East coast") and Phuket ("Cape Panwa").... still marked as "coming soon"... but well... we've been waiting longtime for the "coming" of Karon Beach for Phuket...

Per Hotwire's vacation product, the Sutton Place (Orange County - Newport - Costa Mesa South) has been downgraded 4 stars to 3.5.

Amenities appear unchanged from those on the list:

Shuttle

Restaurant

Pool

Fitness

Golf

Tennis

Business

Per Hotwire's vacation package, the Avante hotel in San Jose(Mountain View) zone has been downgraded 3.5 to 3 stars. Ameneties remain the same as on the hotel list: Boutique, Complimentary Breakfast, Pool & Business.

Per Hotwire's vacation package, the Pan Pacific in San Francisco (USW zone) has been downgraded 4.5 to 4 stars. Amenities unchanged, displaying Restaurant, Fitness & Business. As info, the same vacation package continues to show the Clift as 4.5 stars, thus ending these two properties as having the same star level and matching identities.

The downgrading of the Pan Pacific does, however, muddy the waters in the 4 star category in this zone. If, as the hotel list states, the Hilton no longer shows the pool icon, it's amenities now match that of the Pan Pacific. You win one, you lose one!

I was doing some research on Priceline for an upcoming trip to Seattle using their "shop and compare" tool and they listed the Vance in downtown Seattle as 2.5*. I don't know how reliable this is, but as the Vance has previously been "won" as a 3*, I thought it was worth mentioning.

The Priceline hotel list for Montreal lists the Hilton in Dorval Airport zone as being 4 stars. The Dorval Airport zone no longer offers 4 star bidding (3 star the highest).
