thereuare
Please clarify the date(s) of your stay as those in the current topic title don't make any sense. What is your maximum bid? What zone(s) are you willing to accept? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
jemoeller
I'm looking for 6/30-7/2 in Midtown, Upper or Lower Manhattan. Which hotels fall in the 4* or 5* categories?I'm willing to bid $135 or so. What should I expect to pay? Thanks, Link to comment
Blueskies
You can look at the Priceline hotel list and also the map of New York and you can see the rates others have paid.Do you have a back up reservation yet?Prices have gone up quite a bit over the last couple of years so you may have to pay a bit more. There may be a bit more chance of getting something down in the financial district at the weekend for cheaper but I will leave theruare to come back to you or some other locals.Good luck. thereuare
You sure you want to bid Lower Manhattan... do you have anything planned that you need to do down that way? If not, i wouldn't be including that area this early in your bidding. If you do want to include that area let us know and we'll revise the strategy below, but for now i'm only going to include MTE, MTW, and UM/CPS... you could include MTS but i'm doubtful you'll find anything in that area at the 4* level within your budget. I also go up to $140 as sometimes that is a common accepted price in NYC, but if you want to stop at $135 you can do so (and maybe you'll get accepted before that so you won't even have to make a decision :) )When bidding 4* in NYC you have two re-bid zones available. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 4* MTW...Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $105, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $110, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* MTE...Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $105, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $110, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* MTW and UM/CPS...Bid $115, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $125, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* MTE and UM/CPS...Bid $115, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $125, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* MTE and MTW and UM/CPS...Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $135, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $140.Any questions feel free to ask.Good Luck and let us know how it goes. jemoeller
Thanks for the advice thereuare,You were right I didn't want lower Manhattan. I followed your direction for MTE, MTW etc., up to $140 with no luck. It is still a ways away so I will try again next week. Thanks for your help!JM Link to comment
