BigSexy
Need hotel near Pike Place 7/19. $95 isn't getting it done, though past wins suggest under $100 is doable. Suggestions? Link to comment
thereuare
...though past wins suggest under $100 is doable. Rates are date specific, so it is not uncommon to not be able to replicate another user's win if their dates are different then you're own. Using our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com search within 3 miles of Seattle for your dates, remove all star ratings less than 4 stars... what is the best rate you're able to find at a 4* or better hotel in the zone(s) that you're bidding (and you'll what you're up against for this nite and why $100 isn't likely realistic) Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. qiushui
Agree, specially 7/19 is a Saturday around summer vacation. In PRICELINE.EXPRESS, 266 for 7/17, 358 for 7/19 for 4* Pike. IMO, I suggest you bid for 3.5* or 3* Pike Market or other area. Link to comment
BigSexy
I've bid 3 and 3.5*. I've added areas. I think there is shortage of hotel rooms, and am at a loss to why?? Festival, event... something is going on. Link to comment

Festival, event... something is going on.It never matters why rates are up, what is important is that you recognize that they are. This one took some digging but i think i found the culprit: The Bite of Seattle. It's a big food festival and they're expecting nearly 500K to attend over the course of the weekend. Surely many will be local, but even if just 10% are from out of town (and remember that vendors from out of town need a place to stay too) you're looking at 50K people who need hotel rooms.
