dodgerfan379
Hello Board,I was hoping for some input. I am visiting vegas this saturday and would like to bid to stay on the strip. North or South and star rating wont matter as much as long as i am on the strip.I wad wondering if i should bid now or wait till the day of to get a better rate? Thanks Link to comment
AaronJB
Welcome to Betterbidding. This is already within the "last minute" period as hotels do go; I wouldn't wait until the last minute to start trying to bid.Are you willing to stay *anywhere* within either zone? What would be your desired budget per night for this stay?Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. Link to comment
dodgerfan379
I am hoping to stay anywhere on the strip for around $100. i have friends staying at the Palazo so i guess Strip South would be preferred but not necessary. Do you recommend any particular bidding strategy?I will definately use the site PRICELINE link. Thank you for your reply. Link to comment
Hearmetoo
I'm not an expert, but you said your friends are staying @ Palazzo? I believe it is considered NORTH strip, not South. Check it out. Just an FYI. Have fun!! Link to comment

thereuare
HOTWIRE has what i'm guessing to be the Monte Carlo (or Luxor... see edit below) for $132/nite... is this acceptable or do you want to try bidding on PRICELINE? The 'problem' bidding less than 4* is that:1) in the Strip South zone you could end up as far South as the Luxor, which is pretty far from the Palazzo2) in the Strip North zone we have not yet had any 3.5* properties reported to the board, i think you'd be 'ok' in the Strip North zone and most likely be upgraded on a 3.5* bid, but there is always a chance that you land a hotel near the Stratosphere area, which is not what most consider to be 'the strip' (and at the 3* level this becomes much more of a very real possibility)You could also try searching within 3 miles of the 'Las Vegas Strip, NV' (use this as opposed to 'Las Vegas' since the latter will geographical pointpoint the center of the city, not the center of the strip) and see if there is anything offered close to the Palazzo within your desired budget. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there.EDIT TO ADD: based upon a recent post the 4* HOTWIRE hotel may also be the Luxor, not just the Monte Carlo Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
dodgerfan379
Thank you for your input. We ended up not booking a room. My friend had a comp room at the hooters for the weekend. Its no Palazzo but it was free and a short cab ride away. Thanks for your help and i apologize for not closing the thread sooner. Link to comment
