For several weeks I had been bidding for a 4 star in the Penns Landing area; I had bid up to $95 with no success. I recently added the Rittenhouse Square area as another possible area in which to stay. Over the past couple of days I had bid up to $100 for a 4 star and $90 for a 3 star. Based on other wins, I knew these did not a high probability of winning. Today I bid up to $100 for 4 star and was rejected. I then started bidding on 3 stars. My bid of $100 was accepted, and I was upgraded to the 3.5 star Sonesta. The website rate for my dates is $199/night, so I am pretty pleased.

I have never been to Philly and was really hoping to stay in the Penns Landing area. However, a couple of people had told me that Rittenhouse was a good alternative, so I am not too disappointed.
