Tommy135
I haven't seen that area before.Seems to be the area where the Trump is located. If i am correct there wouldn't be any risk in getting the Trump anymore when bidding for a 5* in the Strip North Area. Link to comment
yellowdog
No, the North strip is not new.Trump is within this zone. So bidding here means that you can get the Trump. You can always go with HOTWIRE if you want to stay in this area.Let us know how we can help you further.Yellowdog.Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. hl23
you may be right! i blew up priceline's map and it seems to overlay a very narrow area where trump is located. also, only 5 and 4 stars are available here. too bad as i would have aggressively bid for 3 rooms in june for ventian/palazzo had i known instead of booking a discounted car/room package at the aria. at least i got 6 'free' tix to cirque shows! someone needs to be a guinea pig and try to book 1 of these zones. if true i bet priceline and or ventian saw the huge dropoff in these bookings when trump showed up and i guess that is why this 'new' zone showed up. One is called Las Vegas Strip North and the other Strip Vicinity North.Strip Vincity Nort is the area around the Fashion Show Mall and should include the Trump. The next 5* bookings will probably show if the Trump got it's own zone. yellowdog
Tommy135Yes, this a NEW zone. Sorry for that! I just thought you hadn't visited the board for for some time and i never reflected over the name at the zone. Please forgive me! I should know betterI compared the PRICELINE map with the Goggle map and Trump is located at 2000 Fashion Show Drive so it should be located in the new Strip Vincity North zone according to the maps.Yellowdog. Tommy135
No problem! The new zone seems to be a big improvement when bidding for 5* hotels and will probably help a lot of bidders. Link to comment

MurtleCake
Well if you read the pop out when you click on that area:Treat yourself to a luxurious, sophisticated hotel resort oasis - towering high above the Las Vegas Strip on the north end, and steps away from the city's best shopping, shows, casinos and the Las Vegas Convention Center. Luxurious suite accommodations feature non-smoking, contemporary high end furnishings, floor to ceiling windows with spectacular panoramic views of the city, state-of-the-art full Euro kitchens, HDTV, Internet and upgraded bedding with fine Italian linens. Hotel offers signature dining, a transcendent full-service spa, state-of-the-art fitness center and an urbane cabana-lined pool experience. High style & sophistication to the heart of Las Vegas. The hotel is also pet friendly.Sounds like it's only the Trump. Maybe 2 different classes of rooms? Or to just give you a "Congrats! You were upgraded to a 5 star!" message Link to comment
mbstone
Other people on other boards have claimed that this move has isolated the Trump, and un-poisoned the zone containing the Venetian/Palazzo and Wynn/Encore, so that it is again safe to bid the zone without any fear of being Trump-dumped. azepine00
Yes Trump is now in it's own zone - North vicinity.Last weekend I bid for north+south up to I think 130 without success. After that I added North vicinity reduced my bid and got Trump at I think $110.Thumbs up to PL for making the distinction! Link to comment

greg0ire
I mentioned it elsewhere, but didn't get a reply so it may get more traction here.Is it possible that Las Vegas Strip Vicinity North encompasses Las Vegas Strip North as well? We may not be out of the clear. Link to comment
yellowdog
greg0ireWe may not be out of the clear. Why not? Trump is currently confirmed for the new zone.Yellowdog. Link to comment
greg0ire
greg0ireWhy not? Trump is currently confirmed for the new zone.Yellowdog.Because we have seen a Trump win in the Strip North zone as recently as April 7th: Priceline Las Vegas Strip NorthAlso, the verbiage of it. Technically, Trump is both in North end of the strip and in the "vicinity" of the north part of the strip.Just saying. Link to comment
yellowdog
The zone change is confirmed the day after that post, April 8th. And that is what we have to rely on.Yellowdog. Link to comment
Colfax
Also showing 4* availability in the new zone, but I don't see any other hotels there. Any thoughts?Sometimes Priceline offers a bidding option that doesn't actually exist. If Priceline offers 4* in Strip Vicinity North that doesn't necessarily mean there's a 4* hotel in the zone.
