Priceline Hotel: Monterey (05/13 - 05/17)

Hello,

Any recommendations on starting price for a 4 Star hotel in the Monterey area for 05/13 - 05/17?

Prefer to be in Monterey and not Carmel.

I would prefer to stay under $100 as I've looked back and have seen a number of successful bids under $100. However, those look to be last minute and during "off-season"

Not sure if $100 will be enough at the moment for a 4* hotel, but if you want to give it a try...

At the 4* level you have TWO re-bid zones available. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.

(NOTE: 're-bid zone1' is not the same as priceline's Zone1, 're-bid zone2' is not the same as priceline's Zone2, etc, etc)

Select 4* Monterey...

Bid $65, if rejected add re-bid zone1...

Bid $70, if rejected close browser and use our link to re-access PRICELINE

Select 4* Monterey and re-bid zone2...

Bid $75, if rejected add re-bid zone1...

Bid $80

If the above is rejected wait 24 hours and try again, starting at $85 and increasing each bid by $5, this will bring you to your $100 maximum bid.

I have been bidding for weeks with no luck for July 24-1 night. I have bid up to $111 for a 4 star. I have lowered my standards all the way to a 3 star, up to $105 with no luck. Please post if you win something, and I will keep trying. It seems to be true that the last minute bids are the only ones winning.

HOTWIRE's Monterey 4* is $209 for your dates. PRICELINE usually beats HOTWIRE on price but not by 50%.

You'll probably need to raise your limit for a 4*, or try for a 3.5*, or wait and see if rates come down.
